I'm a pianist originally from Chicago but currently based in Bloomington, IN. I'm in the second year of my masters degree at Indiana University. Since 2000 I've done freelance work throughout the midwest. Jazz is my main thing, but I've also done pop work, Broadway shows, rock bands, choral work, classical, salsa, whatever pays the bills.
Here in Bloomington, I play with the IU Afro-Cuban Ensemble (corny name but a killing band), Ben Rice (duo album coming soon), Brent Wallarab, TrademarkFUNK and Jerry Jerome.
My two biggest influences are probably Oscar Peterson and John Coltrane, but I tend to like almost all music I hear. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Bill Charlap, Bob Brookmeyer, Nik Bartsch and Bill Frisell

My Two Jazz Teachers Just Joined The Network!
Hello JMS Members,
I'm so excited today. Two of my most influential jazz musical mentors, Robert "Doc" Morgan and Marvin "Prof" Sparks has joined the network. I'm so proud to have had both of these gentlemen as major influences in my musical, personal, and business development. I'm just showing off. Excuse me for being excited.

I don't know about you cats, but my new music budget has evaporated over the years.
About a year ago, I got turned onto the public library as a source for "new to me" music.
